Where it all Started

Welcome to my business website, designed to help other people gain financial freedom.

This post is to introduce myself to you. As a semi-retired businesswoman creating more financial freedom for myself and others. It’s time to tell you more about Lily.

Living on the beautiful East Coast of Australia. In 1989, as a young woman of 24, I moved from a small town to the huge city of Sydney NSW. To start an exciting job working as the National Sales Manager for The Fashion Expo at Darling Harbour.

Before this, I was traveling around Australia with a dog and a guitar in a station wagon, for 2 years! But that’s another story. I’m still playing and performing 45 years later. Fun!

This was an exciting and demanding job, selling space for fashion designers from all over Australia. The Expo was to sell their next season’s clothes to the retail market. With only 6 months to sell the space, it was a steep learning curve.

Making Big Money For Other People

The Fashion Trade Show grossed over $3 million dollars in sales. A huge amount in 3 days in 1989 but I made little of that. But there were plenty of offers of PA (personal assistant) work coming after that. This pushed me to reconsider my options so that in 1994 I decided to become a business owner. It was an interesting time for women, as we were expected to be secretaries and housewives, not entrepreneurs.

I wanted more from my life and although I was making terrific money as a PA and as a professional musician. It was time to be my own boss!

From 1994 to 2000, I had two businesses without shop fronts. Similar in many ways to an internet business today. Using my name and contacts as a consultant in business and in my travel company, I developed two independent companies. The travel business was the most fun, ‘Influence’ was all about helping people have a great time in Australia.

My skill Set

My skills are in working with people and being very organized at an executive level. So, when the opportunity to work for a billionaire in the property development area came up in 1994.

I went into consulting in my own business and as they say, ‘the rest is history.’

It was the best decision I ever made and for 6 years I negotiated deals in millions and billions. This was very stressful work and a great responsibility, although at times tremendous fun! The black sports car and harbor cruises were a bonus.

At the same time that I was running this business, I happened to jump on a domestic flight and bumped into (literally) a famous Australian band member (my lips are sealed!). He was lamenting having to organize trips. To the Great Barrier Reef and such for family and friends visiting from all around the world.

I offered to help and 4 years later my company ‘Influence’ had 12 employees and jets on call for our trendy guests. It was a very fun time except for when all the pilots went on strike.

A Big Life Change

In 2000, I sold both of my companies and returned to the family farm in NSW.

To help run the farm and care for my mother, which was a very special time for us. This all changed when my mum started fast onset of dementia 16 years later. It was time to sell the farm and start a new life, whilst watching over my mum in a nursing home.

During this difficult time, I was fortunate to meet my soulmate and we married. He was a rock as we sold the property and moved into beautiful seaside semi-retirement.

Then, I started wondering what to do with my time?

The world had moved and changed, computers were king and the mobile phone is a must-have in our technology world. 2019 belonged to the Internet business and I wanted to be part of that!

How Can I Help People?

When you have your life settled and happy, it’s a great time to be able to reach out and help others to achieve their dreams. I started looking on the internet, to see what ways I could learn how to build a website. After looking at many business models, MLM, Local, Creating and selling my own products, then I tripped over a review for a company called Wealthy Affiliates.

18 months down the track, my computer-savvy husband comes to ask me computer questions and I’m thrilled to have a safe place to learn and ask questions. I’ve made great friends and business colleagues and I’ve just employed my first professional copywriter to help out.

I still have a lot to learn and share back in this community, so I will be here for a long time!
