Rolex’s business model is based on selling new watches at wholesale to ADs and demand for new Rolexes still far outpaces supply. You'll know that things are more "readily available" when you get your Rolex.Nowadays when someone posts a new watch it's pretty standard to get asked how long they waited and if they had an "established relationship" etc. It's not everyone's favorite topic but it's a fair question, so maybe these big threads can provide a clearer picture of availability trends. If a particular Rolex (not necessarily a special edition or limited edition) is your grail, then it would absolutely be worth the wait time and the hype. But only you can decide that for yourself. There are plenty of people out there who have plenty to say in the negative about the 1861 Speedmaster Prof.
