Manifesto is a sweet but clean floral musk layered over a dusky but likewise clean patchouli base with a dollop of vanilla cream. There are sheer lemon-y berries in the opening and sheer florals in the heart. I just purchased L'Elixir from Macy's this weekend, and have been wearing it for a couple of days. My original comment saying that it's not significant different from the EDP/Parfum isn't accurate after A/B comparing Le Parfum to L'Elixir.
Manifesto is a lovely and radiant scent. Black currant gives it a sharp and juicy quality, which seems to cool what would otherwise be a warm & woody vanilla/tonka combo. The green notes and jasmine provide a light freshness, and there's an almost glimmering or sparkling element (which is completely appropriate given the bottle design). Manifesto, created by perfumes Flipo and Doc Long, is YSL’s first major feminine release since Parisienne in 2009 and whilst that wasn’t exactly a tough act to follow it feels like the pressure is on for YSL to bring out something new and daring.
